Weekend in La Quinta!

So lucky am I! I spent the weekend with my friends CC and Barbara at CC's mom's conference-it was for Kappa Kappa Iota (retired teachers assn)-We stayed at LA Quinta resort-originally a retreat for the wealthy stars-opened in 1926! well we got a beautiful cabana room ...heres some pictures of our private pool with the views of the mountains that surround this resort The resort is HUGE! like 5 golf courses-25 tennis courts-amazing-its now owned by the Waldorf Astoria so everything was top knotch! We taught a little brush workshop-then gelled by the pool-I napped and then w went to dinner at the Cliffhouse-amazing views-great food-almost all of C's family and Barb;s sis Jo came too! I then went to the PAlm Springs street fair-held every thursday-4 blocks long, at night so its cooler-produce, art, crafts, wonderful music and those soft beautiful warm nights!!AND it was almoet a full moon! SO beautiful!! Hard to come back home!!

Exciting and Wonderful News

Well for the second year in a row I'll be in Letter Arts Review Annual-I almost didnt enter because I really didnt have anything new or ( I thought thrilling) to send but I did at the last minute and voila! It is on fabric of course and I will post a pic when i get a photo of it
I SO needed some good news! Its been a tough week-I guess the lesson of this week is that when things go well you really appreciate them more. But it is still hard to go through the hard days.
I got my work in for my book and actually met the first deadline-but the idea I had about vellum overlays for my exemplars jsut got nixed so its back to the drawing board-
I got a wonderful artist to represent in the book-his name is Damon Robinson and he designs for Praise the Lowered-check out his site-Im going to try to post his work here

more on my weekend

here s some pictures from my trip to Ojai and Santa Barbara. We discovered an art truck, and walked around the town while the sun set. Heres a beautiful sunset above the mission deal in the middle of town. We took the scenic route to Santa barbara every time and it wound around Lake Casitas that was filled with tourists!!It was a wonderful drive-the low clouds hanging below the mountains. Another picture from the Madonnari. I kind of miss it-I think I'll try to do it next year-any madonnari team members still out there? Back to work on my book-my second reprieve is Wednesday but I must get the art in by tomorrow-uh oh!!
